24th School Track & Field Event

The 24 th Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Tun Dr Ismail (2) Sports Day Track and Field Championship jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to promote the 29 th SEA Games was successfully held on 16 April 2017 at the Arena MPSJ, USJ 5 at 8:30 am till 12.30 pm. SKTTDI(2) was chosen to promote the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games under the KL2017@Sekolah program. The school Sports Day went with the environment-friendly concept in line with Kuala Lumpur 2017 as the first SEA Games to go-green. Super Sepak (scoring against the goalkeeper), Cycle Power Challenge (teamwork activity), Mini Golf, Field Sports Challenge and Basket Ball Shoot were concurrently run to showcase KL2017@Sekolah.

The event began with a parade of four teams (Tuah, Jebat, Kasturi and Lekir), followed by a welcoming speech delivered by SK TTDDI (2) Headmistress, Puan Sri Hajah Zaiton bt. Baharuddin. After the championship flag-raising ceremony and pledge by student representatives, ‘Rimau’ mascot made an entrance dancing along with the students who were performing aerobics and rhythmic gymnastics. To the surprise of all it was finally revealed that the man behind the outfit was none other than the Minister of Youth and Sports Minister, Brigadier General Khairy Jamaluddin. He gave the opening speech and subsequently officiated the Sports Day to the applause and cheers of students, parents and guests.

PSome of the track events were the 50m for Level 1 boys and girls and 100m for Level 2 boys and girls. Teachers and parents also took part in the 4x100m relay and 4x100m open relay saw participants from invited schools. The relay events added to the exciting atmosphere at the stadium.

The Red Team, Tuah emerged as the overall champion. The Green Team, Lekir won the parade and the team mascot category. Mohd Daniel Aiman ​​bin Shamsul and Nur Qystina Khadeeja binti Saufi were named sportsboy and sportsgirl while most promising sports boy and girl for the 24 th Track and Field championship went to Mohd Faiz Ashraf and Fairuz Izzatul Afiqah. The day ended with the prize giving ceremony.
